According to a recent report, the newly-elected President Donald Trump is expected to call El Salvador’s President and Bitcoin lover, Nayib Bukele. On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump is set to engage in a discussion with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele. The Call, scheduled for 3 p.m., will focus on crucial regional and bilateral matters. 

However, the White House has not disclosed specific details regarding the agenda. This conversation marks an important diplomatic engagement between the two nations, reflecting their shared regional interests. While the exact topics remain unknown, such discussions often address key bilateral issues, making it a potentially big moment for U.S.-El Salvador relations. 

While addressing the World Economic Forum, Donald Trump repeated his statement, saying the United States will be the world capital of AI and Crypto”. This is the first time Trump clearly mentioned crypto in his speech after he became president. 

Under Trump’s new istration, the community is expecting a clear and friendly regulatory framework for digital assets. Trump also vowed to establish a Bitcoin Reserve in the Federal Treasury, which attracted both, and criticism. 

Nayib Bukele’s Crypto Bet Is Paying Off

It’s been a few years since Nayib Bukele declared Bitcoin a legal tender alongside national fiat currency. As of December 30, 2024, the country holds 6,002 Bitcoins. The Bitcoin El Salvador amassed during his tenure recently soared to over $550 million, according to one open-source, which seems like his bet on crypto holdings is finally paying off.
