Wyoming Patrol Embraces BTC With ‘Get Off Zero’

On February 12, the Wyoming Highway Association (WHPA) officially adopted Proof of Workforce’s “Get Off Zero” initiative, which makes it potentially the first law enforcement association in the U.S. to hold Bitcoin on its balance sheet.

The “Get Off Zero” Initiative is a campaign run by a non-profit organization named Proof of Workforce, which helps labor unions and worker groups in adopting Bitcoin. The initiative focuses on providing adaptable adoption models, educational resources, and community networking, aiding organizations to integrate Bitcoin into their financial strategies.

Gradually, the initiative is gaining popularity among organizations as it is being adopted by unions where it has been introduced, with approval rates exceeding 80%.

Wyoming Senator Praises Move

Cynthia Lummis, a Republican Senator from Wyoming, has lauded the move, saying, “This is so cool. The goal with this stuff is to help Americans access tools to realize and protect the full value of their effort, their blood, their sweat, and their tears. Love to see Wyoming citizens who protect us, protected by Bitcoin. That’s freedom-focused innovation.”

In December, The Kenya National Fire Brigades Association (KENFIBA) made a similar move and integrated Bitcoin into its financial framework. This integration placed KENFIBA the first labor union in Kenya to acquire Bitcoin into its financial framework.

While the ongoing trend of Bitcoin reserve is taking the world by storm, some U.S. states will likely have a strategic Bitcoin reserve by the end of the year thanks to the pro-crypto istration under Donald Trump’s presidency.
